10/02/2024 - Another Environmental Disaster

Once again a company has been given being given permission for erection of 2 hen houses, with extensive outdoor ranges and fencing etc etc  close to the River Beult. No doubt it will be another River Wye fiasco. The Maidstone Borough Council should hang their heads in shame, having given in in to big money. it makes you ask the question, Who will gain and WHY? Not the citizens of Maidstone, or the surrounding villages. Once again DEFRA and the Environment Agency have given in. It’s an utter disgrace. I feel sorry for the people who will have to put up with extra traffic, air, water and land pollution etc. No consideration for the wildlife and the countryside. Why wasn’t it built on a brown field site?. Again big money has won.
