Useful Tip For Damaged Thermometers

Perhaps like me you have dropped your thermometer to find the alcohol has broken into two or more small segments, until last week I would dispose of the damaged item. No longer will this be the case after discussing the problem with my friend Albert Procter about my latest accident with a thermometer. He said “All you need to do is put it in a container of very hot water then watch the alcohol rise until it reaches the top of the thermometer, then take it from the water and allow to cool problem solved”. I tried it today and it certainly works.
