Prince Albert Angling Society Open Day 2026
Just a reminder that this year’s open day will be held on Sunday the 7th June.A full line up of speakers and demonstrations will be going ahead as usual in both the marque and on the riverbank.
In the marque starting at 10am, we will have: Peter Henery, with PAAS Juniors, Jack Spees with River Ribble Trust, Alan Davies with a bug life program from the river, Mark Owens from the Angling Trust, Reel Recovery, who introduce angling to cancer patients, Garry Knowles talking about his angling experiences, and finishing with Steve Beech.On the river, Alan Roe will demonstrate the art of Wallis casting, Jim Fearns will demonstrate double handed casting, John Kirby will be talking about Sea-Trout Fishing, Brian Warrington talking about traditional Trout Fishing.
Chris Hosker Nymph Fishing for Trout, Chris Aldred showing Salmon Fishing with a Switch Rod, Richard Thornley demonstrating the art of Tankara, and Karl Humphries just doing what Karl does best (talking about fishing).As usual there’ll be a good selection of trade stands, with some new ones this year. There’ll also be casting and fly-tying tuition available. John Stevenson will be available to value any antique tackle that you may have.
PAAS will have most of the committee present so any queries will be answered. And as always our full range of merchandise will be made available.We’ll also have our unique second-hand stall, with bring and buy. If you have numerous items, could we ask that you bring them to us on the Saturday, if possible please, as it lessens the queues on Sunday.
